Random question: would those tracks make it highly restricted in where you could use it dude to possible damage to paved roads?

It’s self restrictive in that they are crazy expensive , rough loud and slow. Though I can't imagine they are dot legal

i think most of the track belts are rubber/polymer so they shouldn’t damage the road, but at higher speeds they can heat up quickly and tear apart. I think thats why they’re illegal. O n a road they would be super in efficent (as they act as a gear reduction).

Makes sense. I wasn’t thinking of running them roads normally. I was thinking of them like with chains, where people using them on snowy roads would be prohibited. But it’s probably worse for the tracks than the pavement if what you say is correct.

In high school I had a friend, both his parents were doctors and he got a hand me down Volvo S60. Thought it was boring so he bought $ 1500 pick up with plow. The plow was worth more than the truck and he spent a crazy amount Of time researching these if he sold the Volvo. I respond “ this is terrible idea and I fully endorse it”
